This past month has not been my best RL – not only have I had the dreaded “S” flu but I have now just been in a minor car accident… which has left me with my right and shoulder bandaged up! So I am now typing with my left hand only, which is not easy when I am a right handed person lol. Oh the joys of RL – if it had been SL I would have just rezzed a another copy of my car and bought a new skin :b. But now I continue on with my rendevous through the smaller stores in SL.

“CODIE” by KESSKREATIONS

Next door to *HILARIOUS* clothing is KESSKREATIONS . Created by Ms Kessernet Steeplechase, the owner of *HILARIOUS*, KESSKREATION concentrates on the jewelley side of things. A mixture of traditional and modern designs, this shop should see you find at least one thing appealing to your lifestyle.

I decided that CODIE was my style. Not to girly.. lol.. yet still with an elegance that subtly slams of confidence. With a lovely celtic influence  to it, the CODIE has a scripted gem and metal change option – enabling you to wear it with most colour outfits. Usually I would say that this jewellery set should be worn with smart or formal wear, but to be honest I would personally wear this for almost any occasion. I am currently wearing it with a casual jeans and vest combo! Now how many other jewellery sets can you say are that adaptable . With a L$400 price tag for the set, I will definitely be paying a return visit to this store.

*Hilarious* Trousers

I hope the new month finds you all well and carefree of any troubles that you may have had in October. I am starting this month with a focus on stores in SL that are small yet contain lovely pieces of clothing. I sometimes find that small stores are either filled to the rafters with lots of items or are at the other extreme with very few vendors – making it look a little bare and unapproachable. But believe me… there are gems to be found out there.

“PLAID TROUSERS” by *HILARIOUS*

*HILARIOUS* is a cute little store owned by Kesseret Steeplechase – the creator behind KessKreations Fine Jewellery. At present there are about 10 designs up for sale, with the promise of another couple soon, which are mainly a mix of staple seperates. I decided that “PLAID TROUSERS” was going to be my choice that day and purchased the “Chubby Cat Pack” – it makes such a change to see a fat pack called something else lol.

Perfect for the autumn and winter wardrobe, these trousers are exactly what it says on the box. Nice textured, subtlely coloured everyday trousers. I believe the prim attachment for trousers has now become the norm these days but I love the little fold up detail on the bottom. Hipster / low rise style, these trousers come in the box in three different styles – “boot” on the underpant layer, “classic” on the pants layer, and “skinny” on the pants layer – so you can opt for which ever you fancy.

Oh how we love Prim Nails.

Ok, Emerald is not particularly happy with herself at the moment – or should that be “not happy” with her photography skills. I am a perfectionist in everything I do but when I am unable to do justice to an item I have been kindly given for review it really angers me. So with this in mind I apologise greatly in advance not only to you readers, but also Ms Carter, as the photograph accompanying this review is far from perfect.

“NAILS & RINGS” by CAITHLIN CARTER DESIGNS

As us ladies know, prim nails are one of the necessary evils of of our wardrobe. Yes they look fantastic once fitted and modded to your shape, but once on you are unable to wear any ring type jewellery – unless of course you are a “dab” hand at new attachment placement ect (which I am not). Along comes Ms Caithlin Carter however, and gives us the ideal solution to this evil – prim nails with attached rings!! Fabulous.

As you may know I am a die hard CANDY NAIL girl, no others have even come close to them in the fit and look department, so when I was asked to review these new releases I truly hoped I would like them as Ms Carter is one of the kindest designers I have met and contrary to popular belief, I actually do prefer not to be negative about an item I review lol.

First up is the long nail ELEGANCE in bordeaux. This is an absolutely gorgeous colour nail – not to bright yet not to dark – and with the added diamond floral decoration it just springs out from the skin. The ring attached is of a classic triple gemstone design, set in a band of diamond encrusted platinum. The short-nail version can be seen in black on the right hand side of the photograph.

Next up is the long-nail option of ROYALTY. Entitled “diamond” this nail and ring set is definitely one for those dark-skinned diva beautys amongst us. The tone of colour shines out from the darkness, but this time the  jewel encrusted design on the nails takes the form of a more sharp edge pattern, accentuating the talon like fingers. If another reason is needed to purchase ROYALTY then check out the modern styling ring which has a “spider-esque” delicate main design set on the diamond encrusted band.

Moving down the photograph we have the long-nail version of SKY in the blue colour option. What I really l like about this set is the delicate use of colour and pattern on the base nail. Although you cannot see it on the photograph *gets more angry at herself* there is a deceptively beautiful array of arc stripes and painted sparkle in a lighter shade of blue, which not only blend seamlessly in to the nail but accentuates the five diamond prims it surrounds. With it’s multi-stranded design, this ring definitely belongs in the more modern of jewellery styles. The addition of the randomly placed  trio of diamonds is a cute yet classy touch.

And finally we have FAMOUS. My absolute favourite. It is all about the ring on this set. Big, bold and beautiful, if you want people to stop and stare with jealousy then get this. I am not a ring fan – I have maybe have five in my whole collection – but for some reason this just screams to all my senses and desires. Maybe it is the “chain-link” swirls which surround the platinum sculpture like a lover’s arms. Or maybe it is all of this accompanied with the vixen red nail colour. Who knows. Either way, this set is going to be my permanent favourite until the miraculous day I marry here in SL lol.

Oh, which reminds, Ms Carter is also offering a service which allows your current wedding ring to be added to a set of her prim nails – so no chance of upsetting your husband when he sees you are not wearing the wedding ring he got you

Eastern Tenderness

If you head on over to the ICON mall you will find that there is quite an eclectic mix of high qualitystores – unlike some malls that just focus on filling vendor spots with either who ever pays the money first, or with designers who put little or no imagination into their work. If proof is needed of ICON’s appreciation of great designers then cast your eyes on this little stunner:

“TENDER BLOSSOMS” by MUSASHI-DO

Catering originally to male fashion MUSASHI-DO has now moved onto the realm of the female form. The asian-style of attire has never been something I have been a fan of on myself *hides her face from a certain Ms Fairey* as it usually clashes with my skin, but when I wore this outfit I was so pleased to eventually find something that opened my eyes to what I had been missing.

And what, you may ask, was that missing piece? Well it was the gorgeous, ornate, decorative texture of course! OMG the TENDER BLOSSOMS dress just screams quality. Every little flower looks like it was hand sewn by one of the great artisans of the East. Add this to the simple modern style of the dress – with a prim attachment that needed no adjustment for any pose – and what you have is a wardrobe staple that no girl should be without. Team it with jeans for the “look at me” casual look or accessorise up for a girls night out.

Time for Bed?!?

As we know SL is not all about fashion and whose wearing what ect but sometimes I find it difficult to see past this. Every day I am dealing with the fashion industry in different forms so I am glad when someone points me in the direction of an object that deservedly requires blogging and is NOT related to fashion.

“DESIRE” Bed by PALAIS

Probably like many others here, the first thing that springs to mind when beds are mentioned in SL is the “s*x” word. I argue with myself over why this is so? Surely SL has evolved to more than just a place to get a virtual leg over?? lol. With this in mind I decided to take a look at PALAIS’ latest creations with an eye on the design rather than the animations contained within.

Set in a beautifully atmospheric castle PALAIS’ beds are unique to say the least. Following a gothic theme throughout there is no mistaking that alot of of thought has gone into the design and look of these beds. Rich in texture; rich in colour, the DESIRE bed would not feel out of place in the pages of a RL interior design magazine. Infact, if you take away the castle walls and torches I am sure I have seen this bed in a film recently lol. The draping of the bed linen on to the floor is a gorgeous touch – I have not seen many other beds which can carry this off well – and the scatter cushions just make me want to jump up and down on it :b.

With this being named a “sex” bed it would be unfair of me not to try out some of the animations it had – so, like most girls whose partner has disappeared from SL for a while, I put out a call for a helper. Low and behold a brave knight by the name of Norman answered this fair princess’ plea – and luckily for me he was also a pose/animation designer.

This bed claimed to have “52 menues, 378 anims, 276 poses” – I am not going to argue with that as there was a heck of a lot of choice; but I was looking for what made this bed different to all the others out there. The answer to this came in the form of the massage and cuddling menu’s. With the massage settings you had the options of choosing not only the reciever but also the part of the body that required massaging – I believe there was a choice of 6 body parts. A tub of body lotion also appeared by my side as I began the massage – nice touch.

What really sold this bed to me were the cuddling animations. It was so nice to see that a designer has paid attention to the non-sexual activities that happen on/in a bed, and the fact that the poses only required a minor adjustment to enable a couple to look correct together was a bonus.

As this is a PG rated blog I am not going to go into detail regarding the sexual animations so you will have to find that out for yourself lol – but what I can say is that every type of sexual encounter is catered for, from “basic” to “bondage”. Most of the anims are of a really good standard, although a couple are a little jerky and can be seen in the majority of “sex-gen” beds. According to Ms Gravois, one of the designers, the thing makes these beds special can be found in the “bondage” menu – and from what I saw I cannot help but agree.

From the male perspective I thought I would relay to you what my knight in shining armour said in his summing up: “good cuddle sequences, shame about the sex”. Take from that what you will but maybe it had more to do with the fact I was there and fully clothed lol. Would I recommend this bed to people???  Yes I would, it is stylish, well put together and a beauty to look at. Granted some anims are not perfect but hey! I am not going to argue and say they are rubbish – especially as I do not even know how to create a static pose!!

It is not often I see a skin that makes me go “wowwww”….. but when I saw the latest release from Ms Ryker Beck from ::EXODI:: it took my breath away, and this photo should tell you why.
