Favourites from Chianera Cioc Couture

I am so lucky to have this job as ICON blogger, especially on days when I get sent items that are a little away from the norm. You should all know by now I like to dress a little different, and look for unique items when I am on my travels – so now I bring to you two of Ms Cioc’s own favourites from her collection.

“Amalia” by Chianera Cioc Couture

The “Amalia” is definitely not for those faint of heart. Consisting of layers upon layers of feathers, which not only create the “tutu” style skirt but also adorn the wrist and neck bands, and also the sexyness of lace this dress screams quirkyness and “look at me” in a fun and funky way – not a “tarty” and “slutty” way. Perfect for a party or a club night with the girls, the “Amalia” will definitely be coming out of my wardrobe in the future.

“Tatina” by Chianera Cioc Couture

The “Tatina”  is an outfit you will definitely not find in RL – and for that I thank Ms Cioc from the bottom of my heart. I love designers who are not afraid to use a little imagination and create gowns that would virtually be impossible to wear in RL as is the case this time. Targetting ladies who want to ooze sexiness and confidence but still remain in formal attire,  the “Tatina” is an abundance of lace and victoriana style. The high lace collar and cuffs are definitely indicative of the Victorian era whilst the “cut out” waist and thigh detail is in complete contrast – hence ensuring an eye catching WOW gown. I love this gown but as I do not socialise much – lol – I am unsure if I will wear it again – which is a darn shame By the way, its available in both black and white colours.

*sighs* Valentines Day is only a week away but this year I will be spending it alone as my partner is not on SL at the moment. But for those of you looking for something to send to your sweetheart that is a bit more unusual then you need not look much further than this little beauty.

“Sweetheart” by NLimbo

Perfect for the girl who has everything, “Sweetheart” is not only something that can be used for photography but also a piece of furniture that would not look out of place in the modern living room or boudoir. Ms Gossipgirl asked if I wanted photo’s to use in this blog but I declined – the reason being I wanted to try out this “quooky” chair for myself – Lovehearts being one of my favourite sweets in RL.

I absolutely adore the colour choices and the quality of the prim used in constructing this – and out of the 10 poses included in the chair there was only one that did not suit my avi perfectly. What more could a girl ask for? Well the fact it is only L$800 definitely helps matters. Would I have it in my house? Indeed I would – infact it is in my bedroom as we speak. Will I use it again? Of course – especially in the pose which has me hugging the back of the chair – it gives you the feeling of cuddling close to absent loved one lol.

Vogue @ Icon

I have only recently found out that VOGUE has a satellite store here at ICON – where I have been for the past month I do not know but obviously I need glasses – so as compensation for my oversight I think it is time I brought them to you not only on this blog but in person. Yes I am lucky enough to have been chosen to model in their runway show tomorrow (more details at the bottom.

“ZOLA Jacket” & “AMU Jeans” by VOGUE

Although not meant to be worn together, I could not resist teaming the AMU jeans in gold with the jacket from the ZOLA outfit. Ms Zalyn Bailey has created a lot of beautiful items for her collection but somehow this ensemble really catches my eye – and actually makes me feel more confident lol. The jacket can is of a “hard edge” soft leather look, with absolutely fabulous sculpties forming the main length, cuffs and collar. I especially like the fact that the belt is not attached to the jacket (although it physically is lol) and it actually appears to be “loose” and free. On the downside I have but one comment – I do not think the trousers should be called “jeans” lol. I know that sounds a little stupid, and it probably is, but to me the AMU’s are more than just jeans – they are a gorgeous bright colour with a texture that is more satin than denim -  and they are definitely available in more than blue lol.

“YAN” Bikini by VOGUE

Another one of Ms Bailey’s outfits I will be modelling tomorrow is the YAN Bikini. Yes, I realise summer is a long way off but I could not help myself – and I am sure that some of you will realise why I have chosen to blog this. It is the colour of course!! I really do love this outfit – if you can call it that lol – as not only is the colour perfect for darker skin tones but the details are lush. It has a prim metal ring in the centre of the bikini top which serves as the foundation for a delicate gold chain neck tie. Something as simple as this makes a whole lot of difference. Although not apparent on the photograph above, the main design of the bikini is a pretty – yet still a little edgy – sequin texture pattern, and this coupled with the simple plainess of the sarong and bracelets makes for a very lovely outfit indeed

Okay yes it is a “cheesy” title but could not help it – a light hearted mood has taken over my RL persona for once lol.

I recall blogging about NLIMBO, based on our very own ICON sim, way back when I was a new here – and boy, has’nt time flown. But I am very pleased to say Ms ShannonCharlize Gossipgirl is still creating wonderful poses as shown above. The new “Lady” pack is exactly that – six poses showcasing femininity in all its aspects – frustration, melancholy, fun-loving, siren, strong-willed, and manic. Now obviously these are not the official descriptions from Ms Gossipgirl lol but I found them to be very apt when trying out them myself Infact – all thats missing is anger and jealousy and there will be a perfect set for me !

Fun Hair for the Ladies

It has come to my attention recently that there are lots of stores selling hair that maybe not as famous as some, and yet hold some of the most fabulous pieces known to man – so here starts my crusade to show you these works of art:)

“GYPSY” by 3636

As you know I do not usually showcase “freebies” or “dollarbies” on this blog, however I cannot resist showing you this hair by 3636. “Gypsy” is designed by a Ms Dianny3636 Aeon and is in store for a mere L$0 – but unlike many MANY other freebies this hair is fabulous. The texture is no different to those which Ms Aeon sells at full price, nor are the sculpties or design of any lesser quality – which is a big plus point in my book as it proves the designers worth and customer satisfaction policy.

“Gypsy” may not be to everyone’s taste as it requires a certain amount of artistic styling and confidence to wear, but come on ladies every girl should have at least one “fun and frollicable” hair in their inventory – and this one certainly makes me smile. Well done Ms Aeon

New Release at Seldom Blue

It seems some time since I last blogged about Seldom Blue, so now it is time to keep you updated with these fabulous designers based on the ICON sim.

“Evangeline” by SELDOM BLUE & ETERNITY BRIDES

“Evangeline” is the name given over to the latest range from Seldom Blue. Renowned for their excellent use of colour, texture and design in lingerie, Ms Degastino and her team have now turned their hand to creating formal gowns – but with a twist. As you can see from the photo the high quality we expect from the brand is still present – the bandage style bodice / dress texture is amazing – but there is an innocence to the gown that is a little unexpected to this girl. To be honest I do not know what I was expecting … lol…. but when I was faced with a prim princessy skirt alongside another prim for a short system skirt… welll.. let me just say this girl was a little confused. Yes, it is a clever idea to have two dresses that are directly opposed to each other as it will ensure there is an outfit for almost every girl – but still something is “nagging” at the back of my mind :s Maybe it is the fact that I cannot think of a suitable occcasion where I would be able to wear the more “formal” combination as it is not “quite” formal enough for my taste.

Anyway, would I wear this dress again? Oh without a shadow of a doubt the short bandage dress will be aired in public at least twice (any more than twice and I will get shot by the fashion police :b), so there is no fear on how much I love that Oh and by the way, I believe you may just have time to catch this gown on special offer for L$100 – but if this offer has ended please do not yell lol.

Pure Contours @ ICON Sim

No, it is not another MIAMAI wedding collection review lol – but do not worry my lovelies the next one will be :b

“PURITY” by Pure Contours

It is very rare, infact this must be the first time, that I have blogged about skins – so why you may ask have I begun today? Well the answer is simple – the designer behind PURE CONTOURS, a Ms Pure Nikolaidis, has exceptional customer service. I happened to bump into her at the store on ICON during my monthly search for ebony skins and she asked me if I had found any “demo” skins suitable. Like the majority of stores I found that the skins were just not quite dark enough for me – to which she replied “Oh if you wait a few minutes I will see if I can darken it for you”. My jaw nearly hit the ground! How many skin designers would suggest that to a customer, and then deliver within five minutes? Not many believe me.

The demo turned out to be the perfect tone, and to add to this exceptional service 8 skins – yes 8 – were in my inventory within 20 minutes!!! OMG is Ms Nikolaidis an angel, or a devil for making me part with my money? lol. Either way I am extremely impressed with the PURITY skin – the makeup is subtle but not minimal, the face definition and texture is soft yet not flat, and the overall look of the skin is one of sublime beauty. Do I need to say any more or do you get the picture that I like this skin?? lol

As you all know by now I am honest in my reviews so I feel a need to make one slightly “negative” comment – maybe it is because ebony skins are notoriously difficult to shade and highlighten, but the skin tone on the body seems to be lacking the high standard of that which is on the face. It appears to be “flat” in comparison. Looking at the other skin tones available in store though it seems that this “slight flatness” is NOT present on the lighter shades, so hopefully this is something which Ms Nikolaidis can work on over time (and I would be more than happy to cast my eye over any future dark releases :b) – but damnnn  for a new skin designer she is doing fabulously already ANNNDD she makes shapes too!
