New at ICON Lifestyle Sim

It has been a while since I mentioned a new store at the ICON sim, so it is with great pleasure I would like to announce the opening of SELDOM BLUE.

SELDOM BLUE is owned by IndigoBlue Dagostino, Singsong Writer and Covenant Laval, and has been around in SL for quite a while but is only now becoming more well known and able to branch out in their number of stores. Concentrating mainly on high quality sexy feminine clothing, the satelite store at ICON also has something special for us….. the fabulous team have designed an exclusive dress for ICON shoppers. It is called “LILIA” and is available for L$1  – YES! L$1. Perfect for being girly at the upcoming christmas parties and certainly NOT the usual dollarbie standard of clothing. the LILIA is not something to be missed ladies.

May I have an Apple??

It seems my previous post has triggered a little of the “cowgirl” in me, as the first thing that caught my in today’s store can definitely fall in to that category.

“RUFFLES” by APPLE MAY DESIGNS

I first heard of APPLE MAY DESIGNS during last year’s “Peace on Earth” Hunt – well at least I am hoping it was APPLE MAY and not another designer lol. At the the time I did my usual perusal of the store but if I am honest I did not spend much proper time there…. for if I had THIS would certainly NOT be the first time I would be blogging about them – believe me! But then again, I am only pixels and do make mistakes…. but at least I admit it lol *slaps her own hand for the previous oversight*

“RUFFLES” is an outfit that appeals to every single one of my senses. Yes I know I always go on and on about textures in clothing but this time its different. This dress is something that I just cannot help looking at. Obviously the sateen finish plaid texture is amazing but there is something about the whole dress that makes me want to touch it, feel it and basically watch myself wear it in RL lol. Yes… I know that may sound “kinky” but that is the effect this dress has on me. May be its the fact that Ms May has such detail in the top as to show the outline / indentation of a bra that would have been worn had it been RL ? Or may be it is the fact that the prim collar ruffles match perfectly and symetrically with the prim skirt?Who knows what goes on in my little head sometimes .. lol …. but one thing I do know is that I will not be over-looking APPLE MAY DESIGNS again, and neither should you if you want to be smothered in texture heaven

The Legend of MYTH

Question to you ladies out there, do you sometimes feel less of a woman if you dress in a male type of clothing? Obviously in SL you can get away with wearing almost anything and not be “judged” and that is why I love it so much, but in my RL I do unfortunately feel less attractive and almost “looked down upon” as I trundle the streets with my hooded top, jeans and trainers on lol. Maybe this is indicative about me and my mental state of mind .. lol…. rather than society as whole; but either way I have decided to take a stand – and make myself feel better in the process :b – by going all “manly” in todays blog.

“Plaid is Back” and “Trepid” by MYTH

MYTH has been around in SL for approximately a year and has become known amongst some circles as the place to go for high quality, reasonably priced casual clothing with a kind of 50’s-esque feel about them. Of course I have been a fan since day one as you all know I have a penchant for watching designers grow and develop throughout their time in SL (no… I am not a stalker btw :b). Actually, it is a little ironic as I have just remembered that one of my very first pieces purchased from Ms Pinazzo was a male shirt and waistcoat combo lol – lawd things have not changed as much as I thought.

Anyway, what you see me wearing above (whilst doing hard manual farm work :b) is the “PLAID IS BACK” shirt in pink. Available in male and female versions, and I have it on good authority that the only difference is the size of the prim cuffs and collar, this shirt is is a lovely mix of  traditional autumn/winter work wear with a huge blast of color. It is ideal for cheering yourself up on cold winter days, but team it up with the TREPID jeans (again, available in male and female version) and you have on your hands a little winner. I am all for bargain shopping but this entire outfit costs only L$300 and will see you through till next summer as the jeans are that perfect colour which can be worn in any season. This coupled with the fact that the detailing is simple and sufficient means that there should be no avatar out there complaining they have no clothes to chill out and relax in over the coming months.

Just the TONIC for a show

Fashion can sometimes be a fickle thing in either worlds, so it is heart-warming to find that there are people out there in the metaverse that stay with you, and believe in you know matter what. There are very few people on my friends list like that, however one lady has believed in me as a model from day one and that is one Ms Madison Sullivan – CEO of The Butterfly Modelling Agency. I will never be able to thank her enough for her belief but as a start I am urging you all to take a visit to this fashion show tonight. It may not be a well known agency but it is ran smoothly and the models so hard working….. plus how many “male fashion only” shows have there been in SL over the past year?? Not many I can guarantee you So get yourself down to this hair show….. and even you girlies out there might pick up a style tip or too :b

Brocade and Feathers.

Following on from my previous post of MIAMAI, as promised here is the second of her new releases… hot off the press so as to speak.

“FEATHER JACKET” by MIAMAI

There is always a tendency for winter fashion to be full of coats that are fur laden or of a big “puffa” style. To be honest I do not own many coats here in SL but the ones I do tend to belong to that category. So when I was sent “FEATHER JACKET” I was expecting a huge bird type concoction… lol…. so I was pleased to find this somewhat delicate design adorning my body.

Available in seven shades, this heavily brocaded jacket is full of the usual detailed texture, and sits perfectly just below the “cheeks” so it can also be worn as a dress… like I have here. The feathers trim the cuffs, collar and hem and are just enough to cover the edging. My favourite detail is probably one that very few of you would even double take at….. and that the button section. I love the way the jacket has a “fold across the chest” design – without having the added problem of additional prims – whilst the buttons sit seamlessly on top…. just as if they were seen in RL. Ms Outlander has also ensured the jacket has been modded to fit over the top of any of her gowns – without the need to lose prim attachments. Nice !

The competition begins!

Well, well, well…… it seems that we may have a bit of a competition on our hands. Since reviewing Donna Flora’s “EVA”, and daring to suggest that it may have become my newest favourite designer, it seems Ms Outlander of MIAMAI has taken this as a challenge and presented me with TWO (yes two!) brand spanking new designs. Oh I love my job .

“SELENE” by MIAMAI

Since first introducing MIAMAI to you all I have had a tendency to focus on Ms Outlander’s formal collection – this was namely because, at the time, she was releasing more formal wear than anything else. But now it is time to move on to outfits for the party season. SELENE is a “very” short strapless dress…. and by that I refer to the fact that had I been just one inch taller you would have been able to see my underwear!! A fashion faux-pas by anyone’s standard. Focussing on the good points however, as usual the textures are sublime and perfectly formed. The “glittery-sequinesque” main colour seems to catch the light and reflect whatever your surroundings have to offer – a champagne glass would be a perfect reflection ; whilst the banded tape effect of the black satin corset belt pulls everything (including yourself) together and adds a touch of glamour to this disco inspired party dress.

There is one comment that I would like to make – and it is with regards to my own personal “pet hate”. Why oh why are there glove type cuffs?? Yes it may add a touch more sparkle to the outfit but I do not think that is needed. It kind of reminds me of the costumes young children wear to disco-dance lessons. But I am sure there are ladies out there who like this glove layer – and if you feel confident enough to carry it off then go ahead!! But seriously this gorgeous party dress does not need it – and I will definitely be wearing it for a party over the next couple months.
