“Madelene II” by DCNY

In Mr Casanova’s own words “If you loved the original Madelene outfit, you are sure to love this hot look. A pin-striped black miniskirt, sexy button down shirt and suspenders”. Well I hold my hand up and admit I do not have the orignal Madelene outfit but I doubt whether it was as sexy as this little ensemble. I was lucky wnough to be sent the pink version – one of my favourite colours – and the texture of the short is just like satin. Its absolutely beautiful. The mini-skirt is just that – very mini lol – and although I tend to stay away from this length of skirt I did find myself wearing it on last nights disastrous shopping trip to “The Accessory Fair 2010″, teamed with simple platform pumps. Perfect. Oh btw – there is a “special offer” on the green version until St Patricks Day – it is reduced to L$100

“Nedara” by DCNY

OMG ! What can I say about this Nedara Gown? It…. isss…….absolutely……..stunning. And I mean stunning like no other formal gown I have seen in SL.  Strict “formal” type dresses are not often worn by me – other than in shows and photoshoots – but this gown literally took my breath away. As soon as I wore it I was mesmerised by the texture, the cut, the design, the prim attachments, the float of the mermaid skirt, the shape it gave my body – everything! The final “icing on the cake”, which won me over, was the fact it 1) had long sleeves, and 2) had an open laced back – the two things I look for in my dream gown. If I was to ever marry here in SL I would make sure I begged and pleaded with Mr Casenove to cake me this in white *hint hint :b*. Now all I need is my man to marry lol.

“Lola” by SELDOM BLUE

As always Ms Dagostino has done it again, and released another piece of stunning textured lingerie. The “LOLA” is, in my opinion, of a “french maid” genre combines with a cute little naive twist. Comprising of numerous layers and options I particulary love the bra and tiny ruffle skirt option (left in the photo). The “sheer blush” colouration of the delicate lace fabric reveals just enough of the soft skin beneath to make your partner go wild. Combine this with the denser opaque of the stockings, with beautiful matching lace tops, and you have a saucy little minxy outfit that …well… would definitely not do any harm to your love life :b

And if that is not enough to tantalise your senses then how about the fact that Ms Dagostino has been kind enough to place a white/red version of “Lola” for sale at only L$99 ? *heads out the door just in case her man decided to log in*

“BONZAI” & “LAZY DAISY” by Chop Zuey

Well you should all know by now that I am not, unlike the majority of females, a great fan of jewellery. Infact I can go in as far as to say that I tend to avoid jewellery shops as a whole. This may appearing shocking to some of you readers but hey, I am honest … and most importantly learn from my mistakes by keeping an open mind. So now I can stand up proudly and say “My name is EmeraldEyes Honi and I am addicted to CHOP ZUEY jewellery”

Oh my goodness people you must must must pay a visit to this new store. The designer, Ms Belle Roussel, has created some of the most gorgeous jewellery I have ever seen in SL. None of the usual “formal” diamond or pearls appear in her store, but the walls are graced with intricate designs in gold combined with a multitude of bold colours.

Take for example the “BANZAI” bracelet – yes it may seem it is just a basic multi bangle bracelet that you can see in probably any jewellery store in SL. But take a little look closer – see how the diamonds are so intricate as to not prove “blingy”? See how the multi bangles are all of different textures which give an element of quality and exclusivity that can only make the wearer proud? Definitely a staple piece of jewellery every girl should have in their gem box.

And if you are a fan of rings in SL, again I was not until today, then check out this “LAZY DAISY” ring. Consisting of an ornate flower design, this ring is encrusted with three different types of gems – emerald, crystal kyamite and pink tourmaline – and is scripted in such a way that the eye believes the gems to be in motion! Yes I know it sounds strange to have moving gems lol – but it gives a very unique style and something which I have sat and stared at for some time today. It may be big, it may be bold, but it certainly is not brash. I am completely in love with this ring and will be purchasing it in more colours soon

My first ICON Blog… how fun! I have a fabulous find for the girls who love casual, unique jewelry. Callie Giordano of Freckled Funk makes some amazing everyday wear jewelry. If you are like me you have a folder overflowing with jewels that are more for the ballroom than the ballgame. Freckled Funk jewelry is wonderful because it is original enough to put on with your Nicky Ree Dress but also can be worn with a plain t shirt and jeans just romping around the house.

My current love from FF is her “My Life” Collection. It features not 1 but 2 necklaces, the platinum and wood choker (Shown here) and the thinner, delicate pearl choker. Included is complementing copper, wood and turquoise earrings and her multi-finger rings for each hands. It is really a very unique set and all her jewelry items are available for gifting so they make a great present for the special lady in your life be it friend or lover.

So if gothic is your style then honestly it is worth a few minutes of your time to take a perusal.

AVENUE Models proudly presents “For the Love of McQueen”, a tribute to the late Alexander McQueen, where 38 fashion designers have come together to lend their support in each creating a design that is inspired by McQueen’s work and spirit.

These original designs created within a week, will be showcased in a fashion show on 28th February 2010 at 12 pm SLT on GOLden shopping sim after which the designs will be available for sale at the designers’ stores for the month of March.  100% of the sales proceeds will be donated to the charity,  Keep A Child Alive, since Alexander McQueen was a known supporter of similar AIDS / HIV charities.

The project initiated and produced by Rusch Raymaker, CEO of AVENUE Inc, shares her inspiration for organising this project:

“Alexander McQueen represents an immortal legacy of the spirit of innovation that continually pushed the envelope in fashion.  Always one to shape and reshape fashion by deconstruction and reconstruction, McQueen was indeed a 21st century designer that constantly dared to refrain from conformity.  He gave the world a new vision and perspective about fashion and his knack for story-telling to relay these messages was second to none, richly realized in his designs and fashion show productions.  His mind, his spirit and his visions were larger than life.

For all these things and the sense of loss and grief I feel for losing such a great inspiration in my life, I dedicate this tribute, For The Love of McQueen, a collaboration of Second Life’s fashion designers, stylists, artists, members of the press and the team from AVENUE Models and AVENUE Magazine, to express our gratitude for the impression Alexander McQueen made on all our lives, real and virtual.”

The fashion show will be hosted by Angie Mornington of Fabulous Fashion and staged on a build realized by Babyhoney Bailey based on Rusch Raymaker’s inspiration for the show.  Machinimaist TommyLee Nightfire will be creating a film documenting the creations and show.

“Summer Essence” by La Maison de la Couture

Let me get straight to the point with this outfit by saying “Oh what a massive improvement”. I do mot mean this in the derogatory sense, infact far from it. In my previous review I did pass comment about the styling and texturing behind a couple of Ms Diavolo’s outfits being a little “off course” at times, but this time round I am so, so pleased to say that she has learnt alot in the past months as “Summer Essence” is a fabulous little outfit.

As you can see it compromises of a number of pieces of clothing – short jacket, bikini top, two different other tops, shorts AND two trouser variants – which are available on all layers types; so what you end up with is a mix and match collection which will take you through the entire summer season. I particular love the styling of the summer shorts and strapless top as she managed to created a lovely smooth texture in a somewhat unusual yellow colour – which of course is perfect for me I would also like to pay particular hommage to the mini jacket – not only do the prims fit perfectly and seamlessly but it also comes without a “jacket” layer – a very brave move for a designer to make as they risk the avatars skin showing through when moving, but definitely worthwhile as it means you can wear almost all of the collection at the same time.

I am so glad I kept my critical eye on La Maison de la Couture – I love it when I am proved correct :b

Sometimes I, like many others, crave a little solitude and serenity at times here in SL and I am sure that applies to the designer behind 2EXTREME …. a one Mr Tunes Meness …. as why else would he have created a large range of landscaping and garden ornaments which err on the side of peacefullness?? Even the store itself has a somewhat sublime and melancholic atmosphere – although it is only a satelite store it is obvious that Mr Meness has carefully chosen pieces of his work that will work well together. I particularly like the the Japanese Wish Stone with its simple smooth textures and not “overly bling” particles.

For anyone who wants a little piece of quiteness in their own homes then you can not do far wrong than to pop by and see what appeals to your senses.
